We are going to change our routine a little bit for the next meeting. We will have a special guest speaker on August 5. Also, Jason's deli sandwiches/wraps will be provided by our sponsor, Principle Solutions Group. Details below:

6:00 - Welcome and Introductions - Michael Fortunato
A word from our sponsor - Principle Solutions Group, Corali Nogueras/Josh Nazarian
6:10 Bent Myllerup, "How to create a high performance environment"
7:00 - Break
7:15 - Bent Myllerup (continued)
7:45 - Optional Breakout Session: Lee Henson, CST, VersionOne - "Empowering Agile Teams"
8:15 - Meeting close.

Theme: "How to create a high performance environment."

At this event some of the challenges organizations face, when high-performance teams are established, will be elucidated. Various management and team development models, eg. Appreciative Inquery and team development models from Tuckman and Katzenbach & Smith will be introduced and supplemented with examples of team development exercises, which can be used for the strengthening of team identity and to catalyze the process.

The attendees will gain an insight of how they, as leaders or members of Scrum teams, can make their contribution to enter the hyper performing stage and an appreciative environment.
At the end of the meeting discussion and exchange of experience will be facilitated between delegates.

Speaker: Bent Myllerup, Certified Scrum Coach (CSC), co-initiator of Scrum User Group Denmark, Software Development Manager and Product Owner at TC Electronic, Denmark. Bent is working part time as an independent consultant and has experience with applying training, teambuilding and coaching to companies who wishes to introduce agile processes or optimize already initiated actions. He is also keen on presenting Scrum-related topics at various events including the Scrum Gathering in Orlando this March.

I enjoyed both presentations and the food was great. I was coming off an intense first day of my CSM course where I was introduced to Scrum for the first time - and so both topics were very relevant. Both speakers did a great job with their content and presentations albeit with different styles. The Q&A in the first session got quite interesting when the issue of star performers in Agile environments was raised. Overall, it was a great session and I look forward to the next one ...

    •  Bent's presentation and material were both outstanding! I am delighted he took the time to come and speak! It appeared to me that everyone was engaged for my portion as well. I hope everyone enjoyed the meeting as much as i did!

Hospitality was great. We felt very welcome. There were two presenters, and although the presentation slides were both good, the first presenter's pace was a bit slow. He seemed at times to struggle a bit, and sometimes seemed defensive of some questions when asked. Not sure if he was just tired, but that's my observation
    •  Excellent opportunity to learn new tools and meet new people. Great to meet people that look at project management from a team perspective rather than traditional top down management styles.
    •  Bent Myllerup did a great job discussing motivating teams. I believe the information he provided will be helpful to me on my projects.
    •  How about applying agile thinking and group dynamics to the meet up process: be consistent in how we do things with what we are trying to promote. The two presentations differed hugely. I did an informal survey afterward and found that most people loved one presentation and were nonplussed by the other. Which presentation they liked varied and depended to a large degree on their depth of experience. Thus, it could have been two meetings within the one meeting (let people self select into groups of 6-11, have each group assign some to attend presentation A (team A), and some to B (team B), after the presentations which have to be time-boxed and strictly monitored by a time keeper, have each team prepare a five minute feedback to the other team in their group, and have the presenters mingle as resident experts and answer any questions as they mingle. Hindsight is always better informed, but I suggest giving greater ownership and buy-in to a greater number of users. MHK
    •  I liked the first speaker, he had some really good and relevant content. Unfortunately, I was unable to stay for the second speaker. I was impressed with the number of people who attended this meetup. However, I also really liked the more interactive aspect of the last meetup. It is good to have a mixture of pure presentations and more open discussions. I especially liked that the food was something different that pizza. That was a very welcome surprise. A big thank you to Principle Solutions for that!
    •  Great speakers! Interactive group! Good food, too! THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS!!!
    •  It was a great set of presentations. I would like to see more opportunity for networking/collaboration/breakouts with others at the group to find out their specific experiences with scrum.
    •  Very good meeting set up, excellent guest speakers and lively and interactive attendees.
    • Pat Tiffany (+1 guest)
Good speakers. Food provided that was good and varied.
